Getting strategic

This historical society is looking to the future!

We want anyone and everyone who is interested in the history of our fantastic peninsula to have a hand in keeping that history alive for generations to come. To help us stay on track to achieve that, we’re reviewing our strategic plan.

We invite you to join us on Friday 1st August at 2pm in the Redcliffe Library Meeting Room as we take a walk through the History Redcliffe Strategic Plan 2025-2030.

Come and be a part of shaping our future.

Jane joins us in July

Join us for an afternoon of history as we welcome back author Jane Smith to talk about her latest book, One Free Woman: The True Story of Convict Hannah Rigby.

One Free Woman tells the compelling true story of the only female convict to stay in Moreton Bay when the penal settlement closed – a woman who notoriously served three separate sentences of transportation, including two at one of the harshest establishments in the country.

Be sure to stay for afternoon tea and our History Redcliffe monthly meeting where you can hear all about what we’re up to.

So come along on Friday 4th July at 2pm in the Redcliffe Library Meeting Room. See you there!

June meeting

Mark your calendars for a date with destiny—or rather, with us—on the sixth of the sixth (yep, that’s 6 June) for our next monthly meeting. We’re rolling out the green carpet for our special guest, Colin Scobie, chair of ESRAG (Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group). Colin’s diving deep into the world of dugongs and their cozy habitats. So, swing by and soak up some knowledge about these delightful sea cows that call our stunning Moreton Bay home!

So we’ll see you at 2pm on Friday 6th June at the Redcliffe Library Meeting Room!
