Opened in 1925, Anzac Memorial Avenue (as it was originally named) is the longest World War I memorial avenue in Queensland, spanning a distance of some nearly 18kms. Notably, it was the first bitumen motor road connecting Brisbane to Redcliffe. It not only serves a lasting and impressive memorial to the ANZACs but also provided valuable employment to the returned servicemen during the period of its construction.
When you travel this road, take a moment to remember the ANZACs.
LEST WE FORGET.
