Redcliffe Remembers 1824-2024

In mid-September 1824, Lieutenant Henry Miller landed the brig, Amity, on the shores of Redcliffe Peninsula in the Gubbi Gubbi nation and established the First European Settlement in Queensland.

History Redcliffe is currently planning the ways in which we will mark the 200th anniversary of this historic event.

Monthly Meetings

History Redcliffe members meet each month for a feature presentation from a guest speaker, followed by refreshments and an opportunity to chat with other members, guests and visitors.

Monthly meetings are usually held on the first Friday of each month at 2pm. However, due to the changeable nature of COVID safety restrictions, venues and dates may be subject to change so check the Events page to be sure.

Visitors are most welcome.

Can you believe out long-awaited PICNIC IN THE PARK is just tomorrow?!?!

We're so excited we can hardly contain ourselves!!!

Bring your sunscreen and hat and join us in Corscadden Park (cnr Anzac Ave & Hutchison St) to commemorate the milestone event that changed the course of our history.

There's lots of fun for the whole family so bundle in the kids and grab your granny and come along!

See you tomorrow!

Our usual monthly meeting is not on today but don’t despair! There’s a good reason! From tomorrow (7th September) to next Saturday (14th September) we have a load of events for you to attend. We are giving you today off to save yourself for all that we have on offer for the week to come. We kick off strong tomorrow with the Wunya Ngulum Welcome Everyone Moreton Bay Bicentennial Commemoration Conference. On Sunday, conference attendees are invited to join us for the first escorted walk along the brand spanking new Humpybong Trail. Bookings required via the City of Moreton Bay Libraries page. On Tuesday, we’ve got another escorted walk. This one is the History Trail. Cost includes morning tea.
